9-18-2025 Monthly Project Update
The Board of Directors for Lake McQueeney Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (LMWCID 1, or “the District”) would like to provide residents an update on the work performed so far at the dam for the Lake McQueeney Spillgate Replacement and Dam Armoring Project.
Schedule Status:
A second crane had been brought in to assist in the completion of Bay 3 and due to crowding of the jobsite the substantial completion date has been extended 3 days for additional safety protocols. The revised substantial completion date is set for December 22, 2025.
Current Work Status:
- Bay 3 gate panels – Completed
- Bay 3 Cylinders – Started
- Stop log delivery & dry fit – Started
- McQueeney maintenance bridge span erection - Started
- Powerhouse access – stair landings and stringers - Started
- Control Building Modifications and Electrical – Started
- Bay 3 side and horizontal seals – Ongoing
- Bay 2 side and horizontal seals – Ongoing
- North Embankment dam armoring – Ongoing
- South Embankment dam armoring – Ongoing
Upcoming work:
- Connecting, Flushing, Pressure testing hydraulic system bay 3 to HPU
- Connecting cylinders to hydraulic system
- Bay 3 crest gate pre testing
- Side seal pour backs
- Final torque all bolts
- Grout hinges, stop pads, trunnions, & dogging arms
- Cathodic Protection Testing
- Maintenance bridge span erection – Spans 4-8
- Control Building Modifications and Electrical
- North and South embankment dam armoring earthwork and concrete placements
