8-22-2025 Monthly Project Update
The Board of Directors for Lake McQueeney Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (LMWCID 1, or “the District”) would like to provide residents an update on the work performed so far at the dam for the Lake McQueeney Spillgate Replacement and Dam Armoring Project.
Schedule Status:
The revised substantial completion date is set for December 19, 2025 which includes the time lost from high water and the subsequent cleanup following the July flooding event.
Current Work Status:
- South abutment concrete lift 2 & 3 – Completed
- Pier 2 concrete lift 2 & 3 – Completed
- Bay 3 & 2 hinge support slab - Completed
- Set HPU – Completed
- McQueeney control building concrete roof – Completed
- Bay 3 side and horizontal seals – Started
- Bay 2 side and horizontal seals – Started
- North Embankment dam armoring – Ongoing
- South Embankment dam armoring – Ongoing

- Bay 3 & 2 side seal plate installation
- Bay 3 gate panels
- Bay 3 cylinders
- McQueeney maintenance bridge span erection
- Powerhouse access – stair landings and stringers
- North and South embankment dam armoring earthwork and concrete placements
