Latest Order in the Election Contest has been Issued
In the most recent order in the appeals process of the Election Contest, Bruington v. Lake McQueeney WCID No. 1, the District filed a Motion to Expedite with the Fourth Court of Appeals. The Court recently granted, in part, the District's motion which will require the Bruington's to file their final response by July 2, 2021. As stated in the Order, the Court acknowledges that, under section 231.009 of the Texas Election Code, an election contest has priority in appellate courts and will be determined as quickly and efficiently as practical.
